Many of you have heard about Google’s latest Pixel 4 phones. These phones come with promising specs but at a higher cost. The costs may not be higher than that of other flagships in the market but you may wonder if Google Pixel 4 is worth the price that you are going to have to pay upon its purchase. The starting price of Google Pixel 4 is $799, while that if Pixel 4XL is $899. These are the prices of models with 64GB of memory. Add another $100 if you want to get an upgrade of internal storage up to 128GB. So, do these phones really justify the price that you are going to have to pay to buy them? Comparing to other flagships available in the market, these phones are not the most expensive handsets. But it is not possible for the answer to be a simple “yes” or “no”. Buy them if you are a fan of flagship phones As mentioned above, these phones are not as expensive as many other flagships available in the market. Thus, a Pixel 4 or Pixel 4XL may your primary choice if you like to buy a flagship phone only. These phones are loaded with the powerful specs which are capable of making android use a much smoother experience. Buy them if you like to take a lot of photos Perhaps the signature feature of Pixel 4 series is its camera set. The photo shooting is the best in industry while video shooting may not be up to that standard. But terming video shooting performance unsatisfactory is going to be a bad call here. It’s just a comparison between the good and the best. The major limitation with the video shooting in this series is that it allows 4K video shooting at 30fps. The front facing camera can record Full HD video at 30fps. If you want to shoot 60fps video, you are going to have to bring the pixel resolution gauge one step down in the settings of both of the cameras. The Pixel 4 series is absolutely a masterpiece when it comes to its ability to take stills. The photos are noticeably sharper not only from the ones taken by Pixel 3a but also from the photos taken by other flagships in the market. The night mode of this camera is great. Another feature that makes the camera setup of Pixel 4 series so great is its astrophotography mode. But remember, this mode slows down the shutter speed seriously. Therefore, you are going to have to use a tripod or a stand to keep the phone still while taking photos in this mode. Processing performance is great but battery performance is disappointing Looking at the specs of Pixel 4 series phones, it seems like a no brainer that these phones are up for anything that is processor intensive. A Snapdragon 855 chip and a 6GB RAM module are enough to explain what these phones are capable of. The processing performance is complemented further with a 90Hz screen that makes scrolling and gaming incredibly smoother. But are these phones good for gaming? Well, the answer is ‘no’, especially for the Pixel 4. That is only because of the modest battery performance. The Pixel 4 comes with a 2,800mAh battery, while Pixel 4XL is equipped with a 3,700mAh unit. Pixel 4XL battery seems just OK on paper but considering the fact that it has to handle a 6.3-inch QHD+ 90Hz display, it doesn’t prove to be the power backup to rely on. So, is the Pixel 4/4XL worth it?
Well, the answer of this question is; it depends. If you are just a normal user, you would not be tempted much about having any of the flagship phones unless you like to have one. In that case, Google Pixel 4 and 4XL are the decent choices. And if you want your phone to be a great camera performer, Google Pixel 4/4XL is certainly the best choice to make. But this phone is absolutely not a great choice for gaming simply due to its shorter battery life.
